( C O P Y ) MEMORANDUM OF CONFERENCE AT SPRINGFIELD MASS. JUNE TENTH, 1930. Present: Mr. A.F. Sidgreaves, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce, Ltd. London. Mr. H.J. Fuller, President, Rolls Royce of America, Inc. Springfield Mr. H.C. Beaver, Vice President, Rolls Royce of America, Inc. Springfield. Mr. Sidgreaves stated that the list price of the 20/25 HP chassis complete as supplied from Derby Works is £ 1185. That they would supply us this chassis, built left-handed, suitable for American conditions, on the basis of an order for 200 chassis at £ 840. Mr. Fuller stated very clearly and with emphasis that this Company would not again place an order for 200 chassis at a time. That we might consider an order for a lesser number. ***** On the basis of £ 840 and assuming the English Company would accept an order for a less quantity, the figures work out as follows:- Chassis at Derby Works £ 840 Crating 14 Duty-List £ 1185 less 15%-£1007-5 335 Freight 30 Forwarding charges 15 Customs 3 Unpacking 3 Insurance 3 Total landed New York -- £ 1243 Convert at $4.86 - $ 6041. Add bumpers and mascot 22. Total Chassis price FOB New York $ 6063. Assume that average cost for coachwork including fenders, lamps, running boards and necessary to a complete car is 2500. 8563. Average delivery charges including final car test 200. Total cost finished car complete $8763. | ||
