Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. FOWLER CLARK. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT. We take the liberty of placing before you a few details in connection with the M.C.L. Lighting and Starting Equipment. The writer has had the pleasure of discussing Electrical propositions with your Mr. Fowler Clark, but this was of course some time ago and in the interests of another firm of Lighting and Starting specialists. It might interest you to know that the M.C.L. Equipment is meeting with universal approval throughout the Commercial Vehicle world, and the recent War Office Specification for Electric Lighting on their Vehicles has been extremely useful owing to the fact that the M.C.L. Equipment is the only one that complies in detail with this specification. It might interest you to see a copy of this which we have pleasure in enclosing herewith. We quite understand that you have certain specifications for your own chassis, and that you manufacture a considerable portion of the Electrical gear yourselves. This, however, does not preclude possibilities that you might be interested in the various components such as the Switchboard, Junction Box, Cut out and Controller. The latter being a component incorporating many interesting and exclusive features. We should naturally welcome the opportunity of being able to show you these particular components as we feel sure that simply from a point of view of design they would appeal to you, and also you might like to test out the working of the Controller. The main feature of which is that as soon as the battery registers fully charged voltage the controller comes into operation placing resistance in the field circuit in the dynamo thereby cutting down the output to something in the vicinity of about two amperes. | ||
