To E.V. from E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.1/HP.18.7.33. c.c. Mr. W.O.R. HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Cpt. Eyston. Cycle Type Wings - Bentley EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 4/15.7.33. With regard to the above, we understand that this type of wing which turns with the wheel is quite impractical and is being dropped by those firms who have used it hitherto. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Gry. {Shadwell Grylls} has some on his Aston-Martin and says the car is unusable in wet weather, mud and water being sprayed over the screen. If you will send us particulars of the wing stays we will see what can be done for the 100 m.p.h. car as regards modification to the stub axle but beyond this we do not propose to go.
