C-type Cut-out from 44 PK.

This cut-out was the original one with the rigid pillar and stiff backing for the spring point, which has now been standardized. The rigidity of the pillars was secured in this case, by means of a web soldered in.

The cut-out ran a short distance on GF 68, commencing in June 1925 and was then transferred to 44 PK running until the 14th inst., the total mileage being 17356.

After about 10,000 miles, the points ceased to slide very effectively over one another, a rolling action taking
