The various losses determined in the experiments may be listed as follows.-
(m) Power for driving motor running light.
(a) Belt drive, bearing friction and windage.
(b) Brush friction.
(c) Hysteresis and eddy currents at various excitations.
(d) Brush-short-circuited currents at various excitations.
The measurements are -
(1) m
(2) m + a
(3) m + a + c
(4) m + a + b
(5) m + a + b + c + d
and the various items are deduced by subtraction.
