X3441 Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY11-P22.2.24. 40/50 CHASSIS. FRONT AXLES. We are producing 50 chassis as an addition to "S" Series which are similar to "S" Series in every respect, excepting that as we discussed with you we are fitting:- a {Mr Adams} /- Front Axles. b/- Pivots. c/- Cross Steering Levers. d {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} /- Cross Steering Tubes, all of which are suitable for the chassis with front wheel brakes. We have made this move because we had no axles in stock, nor were any pivots or levers machined. It seemed like throwing money away to produce the standard parts when we know definitely they will not be used. I believe you have been running a 10,000 mile test with the brakes, and therefore the parts in question should be at such a position that you could issue a standard-isation sheet for the use of these parts on any more chassis which are built, in order to save the expense incurred by machining the original type and having to scrap them later. [Handwritten annotation in right margin: of the type we used previously] I would like to discuss the matter with you. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
