6119. To HFG. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/WH.11.3.39. BENTLEY S No.19 UNIT. We are returning the above unit for the following prior to being fitted in the Paulin chassis. (1) New coils to be fitted. (2) Ignition distributor to be checked over and made to conform with following governor curve by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} Start 1000 RPM. 1500 RPM. 2000 RPM. 2250 RPM.(Engine RPM 500 R.P.M. 8° adv. 16° 24° 28° Max.(Flywheel°) (3) Oil filler with breather pipe, existing is obsolete and has no breather. (4) No.1 inlet valve is noisy on seat, would like to check whether excessive clearance in guide. (5) Lap in all valves on seats. (6) New Corrujoint gasket to be fitted which Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} will supply. (7) Inspect cap half of main and big end bearings to note that are O.K. (8) Whilst sump is removed complete the fitment of the floatchamber oil replenishment scheme. (9) New clutch and springs fitted as specified by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} Carbs. and induction system off the Paulin car to be fitted when units are changed. (10) A stop for the dynamo dowel is required similar to the one fitted on the R.R. car as a preventative against the dynamo rotating out of its locking slot. | ||
