EXTRACT FROM :- X7230. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}5/OG8. 8. 29. Re. S.S. CHASSIS. 2. EXHAUST JOINT. The sliding joint at the front end of the rear silencer is giving trouble owing to, we think, the external portion being too weak. It appears to expand and does not return to its original diameter, thus a serious exhaust blow. There is also considerable noise from the drain hole at the front end of the rear silencer. Is it essential that this hole is drilled?. | ||
