"It is, of course, within your recollection that we were not successful in securing your interest in materials which we prepared as alternatives to Whitmore Compound.

"By mutual consent the matter was allowed to drop. However, information reaches us to the effect that a good E.P. type of oil would be equally acceptable to your good-selves. For one thing there would be the advantage of better distribution. During recent months we have been engaged in the production of an E.P.lubricant and Motorine E.P. is the outcome of our efforts.

"Whilst we appreciate that you require to carry out your own tests before accepting Motorine E.P. as a recommended grade for Rolls-Royce back axles, it may perhaps be mentioned that this lubricant has been tested by several other leading Motor Manufacturers. Their reports have been most encouraging and it is under these circumstances that we would bring Motorine E.P. to your notice.

"Of course, we will be only too glad to send you a quantity for practical tests. We would suggest that it would be an advantage for a Motorine for Rolls-Royce back axles to be included in Rolls-Royce Books of Instruction. There are Rolls-Royce owners who like to use Motorines throughout their cars.

"Awaiting a word from you, and assuring you of our prompt attention.
