DISTRIBUTOR - C.I. CONVENTIONAL 8. Herewith D.CD.1154 Eight Point Distributor suitable for Conventional 8 engine. This scheme embodies head, cam, contact mechanism etc. of RR. design and proved reliability, but with a Lucas Governor. The distributor head gives the increased spark over distances to suit present requirements, and in addition recesses are provided round the 8 H.T. pins to increase tracking distance from pin to pin. We understand that Messrs. Lucas can make their governors to give the ignition characteristics we require by suitably shaping the cam faces on the governor mechanism. We have increased the length of shank to improve rigidity. Will 'E' Department please note and increase length of support tube shown on E.CD.1129 accordingly. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
