| Y236 Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}21/MJ. 7th. August, 1934. The Light Production Company Ltd., 60/66, Rochester Row, Westminster, S.W.1. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of July 24th. With reference to our order No.66851 we find that the pistons you have made for us in your own material are not as satisfactory as those in RR.53 and in fact have cracked in several places after seven hours high speed running. Possibly Mr, Brookes would like to see these pistons and rather than supply us with some that are likely to fail in a similar manner replace the set you have in an unground condition with some in RR.53 material. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
