BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}, HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SINGLE POINT RADIATOR SUSPENSION. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M7.5.30. ORIGINAL x7250 x5250. We send herewith N. sch. 3087 in which it is suggested that we should use a double spring in the suspension to obtain the rather peculiar rating which the experiment seemed to ask for. The addition of the second spring does not appear to amount to very much as regards cost or complication. With a single spring it seems nearly impossible to get a rating which will maintain contact all the time, and yet reach the high load required at the extreme limit of the oscillation.
