HOTEL DE FRANCE CHATEAUROUX. Indre. France. 10th April. 1935. To:- Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From:- G.W.H. 5 B IV. telegram:- We have today sent you the following " STEEL FANBLADE BROKEN OFF, BRACKET BROKEN, RADIATOR " " MATRIX CUT, REQUIRE NEW RADIATOR AND FAN BRACKET. " This is the standard fan that has broken. The fan with the aluminum blades we had not fitted. The failure in our opinion is caused by the breaking of the bracket, due to vibration and heavy fan. We had noticed only last night that vibration was causing wear to take place in the bush of the adjustment rod, and we had made sure of all nuts etc., being tight. The fan broke while the car was travelling at approximately 70 MPH. A blade has cut into the radiator Matrix, approximately 3 inches long, and three quarters of an inch deep, one inch wide. No other damage except one front rubber cover of the engine mounting. The studs holding the bracket are bent but not broken. We shall try and patch the Radiator up temporary, until we receive a new Matrix. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} | ||
