To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS. 1028 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}10/JH.12.7.37. Chromidium Brake Drums. In reply to your Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}20/KW.7.7.37. The Midland Motor Cylinder Co. supply "Chromidium" brake drum to most motor vehicle manufacturers including A.E.C., Albion, Bristol, Dennis, Dodge, Morris Commercial, Lagonda, Scammel, Vauxhall, Wolseley. The heavy vehicle contracts are a good recomendation. We do not believe that "Millenite" has any especial properties, in fact, at the other end of the scale of quality, we have found that R.P. Cupola iron works very well and drums in it have run 30,000 miles in France. A first class iron like "chromidium" should give no trouble. Chromidium drums are fitted to 32-EX (in France) and 33-EX; and 3-B-IV is still running with them. The latter after 12,000 miles look as if they had just left the lathe.
