X7940@ Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Phantom II Chassis Copy to Wcr. for 10,000 Miles Test Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E9.4.30 I understand from your telephone conversation yesterday afternoon that you propose to start the first left-handed chassis off to France on Thursday of next week on its 10,000 mile test. I should be glad if you would let me know when 23-EX will start. When I was at Derby last week you said that you thought it would go away this week. I am getting very anxious about 23-EX's test for the reasons mentioned at Derby the other day, i.e. if we are not careful the left-handed Phantom II will be ahead of the English chassis in regard to certain modifications. Would you also please send me an up-to-date list of the parts which are being fitted to 23-EX and which are not yet standardised, and it would be a great help if against each of these you could indicate whether they are also on the left-handed American chassis, and additionally tell me of any special items other than those directly appertaining to left-handing which are on the left-hand chassis and not on 23-EX. In regard to visiting R.{Sir Henry Royce}, I am proposing to him that I visit him on Saturday the 19th. If, therefore, you would let me know your whereabouts in France to the Hotel Majestic, Cannes so that I receive it on Sunday the 20th or Monday the 21st, I could telegraph you in regard to visiting R.{Sir Henry Royce} Sg.{Arthur F.
