| To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X250 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.19/KW.20.4.36. 5-B-IV Steering. The above car is a considerable improvement over standard for sideways whip of the steering column on rough roads. There is still some left, however, due to bending of the length of steering tube between the column bearing and the steering wheel. We wish to try, on the new Marles gear which you are building up, an extended outer steering tube with an oilite bearing close to the steering wheel as on Ph.III. We also wish to move the support to the dash about 4" nearer to the steering wheel. Will you please detail the necessary pieces and incorporate them in the new Marles gear. The outer steering tube should be made the same dia. as at present. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J. Hardy. | ||
