Since the discussion concerning this yesterday afternoon, I cannot but feel that many of the cars on which we are experiencing failures have never even run under all out conditions whereby they would reach maximum temperature without radiator shutters, and would therefore materially benefit by an independent shutter control scheme reducing the average temperature. Additional advantages that should accrue are lower operating temperatures for other auxiliaries, such as ignition coils, and ignition tackle generally, carburetters, steering boxes, electrical cutout and vibrator controls etc. and also a tendency to better oil cooling. 1 | ||
