Dynamo Control

At the present time the 25 H.P. chassis is coming through having the summer and winter charge switching scheme, which appears to be very satisfactory so far.

Meanwhile the Phantom II is coming through with the old scheme in which the shunt-resistance keeps back the charging rate until lamps are switched on. Two points arise here :-

1. We appear to have no information as to when the later scheme will be standard on the Phantom II as well as the 25 H.P.

2. The charging rate on the Phantom II with the present scheme with no lamps alight is about 10 amps. We feel that this is unwisely much, and would suggest that the resistance in the field circuit should be increased so that the current will not be greater than 7 amps. under these conditions. Also, it may be wise to make the use of such resistances retrospective.

We shall be glad of your remarks on this point please.
