To EJJ. X1209 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.4/KW.2.10.35. Bumper Test Rigs. We are wanting to do more bumper testing and more severe testing. At the moment the time spent keeping the rigs in working order is a large percentage of the running time. The old Phantom II engines driving these rigs are unsuitable for the endurance running. We are very anxious therefore that the scheme for electrical drive should be pushed ahead as soon as possible. We anticipate that this will largely reduce the running costs. In order to increase the severity of the test, so as to get similar failures in a shorter time, we require a pair of cams for the drums 3" high instead of 2".
