To BJ. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 4272 E1/M7.7.24. 20 HP. METHOD OF DRAINING.OIL X.4235 FROM SUMP. X.4272 Would you kindly note Mr. Royce agrees it should not be necessary to remove the undershield for the purpose of draining the oil sump. This however will be provided for in future 20 HPs.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} by the expected standardisation of the undershield with open bottom panels. As regards easy draining devices the view held is that these have been found to be a source of danger. Provided there is no undershield in the way the removal of a plug in the bottom of the engine should be a comparatively simple matter. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
