Dear Mr. Robotham:

I regret very much that there has been so much delay in connection with an answer to your letter of July 14th, 1937 addressed to our Mr. Mock, but which has been due to the writer's almost continuous absence from the city.

We would like very much to be of service to you, but before we can intelligently provide you with information, there are a number of items on which we need further detail:

1. Weight of car
2. Diameter and width of brake shoe 11 3/4" R=14 F=
3. Thickness of lining 5/16"
4. Type of drum; that is, pressed steel, rim cast, all cast, etc.; together with chemical analysis N, 1.28 GC 2.30 S, 1.79 C.O.47 P 0.03 Cr{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} 0.05
5. Blueprint of the brake assembly, and which will show the geometry of the shoes and their actuation GB.854 870
6. Cross section of the drum
7. Proportion of brakes front and rear F/R = .82
8. Type of actuation; that is, whether hydraulic or mechanical Mechanical.
9. Overall hookup ratio; that is, from the foot to the end of the shoe at which the actuation is applied 2.4 F+R
