Suggesting a platform be built in chassis 20-G-4 to increase luggage capacity.

In order to enable R.{Sir Henry Royce} to get as much luggage as possible into the back of 20-G-4 we suggest a platform be made over the irregular floor and seat boards at the rear as illustrated on the blueprint. We suggested this to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} when he was in London. Some of the suit cases (two) will go in the boot at the rear, the rest will have to go on this platform, together with two fairly large boxes of crockery. Still more space if necessary can be obtained by detaching the N.S. front seat and pushing it up into the scuttle. However with this platform we anticipate that the luggage will be able to be carried, and that it will not damage the upholstery if a layer of felt is put over the rear squab and door linings.
