BENTLEY GEARBOX. In view of the proposed overdrive box for Bentley II.A. we ran a hundred hours dynamometer test at full throttle 2000 r.p.m. in 3rd. gear on a gearbox which had already done 28000 miles. The casting was Magnesium. At the conclusion of the test the parts were in excellent condition. The 3rd. speed bushes in bronze were not appreciably worn.
