Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.1/AP. September 13th 1937 1328 Messrs Rover Motor Co.Ltd., COVENTRY For the attention of Capt. S.B.Wilks. Dear Sirs, We are contemplating standardising a thermostat similar to that shown on The British Thermostat Co's drawing BGA.2037A, and understand from Mr. Martin Hurst of the above Company that you use these thermostats in large quantities. We would very much like to know whether you have had any failures of any kind with these bellow units, and the nature of any snags which may have cropped up with them. Some idea of the percentage of failures and also of any special tests to which you subject the units before fitting same would be very much appreciated. The writer would like to apologise for troubling Capt. Wilks about this matter, but would be obliged if he would pass this letter on to the appropriate department to be dealt with. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
