X4117. To. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} He/Rnl/MJ.5.7.29 With reference to the attached letter from Bowles Ch.No.57-SC., we estimate that an R.R. car can be stopped on a firm dry surface in 85 ft. from 40 m.p.h. and 108ft.from 45 m.p.h. We give these average figures but we believe that if Mr.Bowles communicated with Mr.Minchin of Petero & Radford's, he will get some very much better figures, asMR.Minchin had a test witness at Brooklands to aid him in a defence in a similar case.
