PAGE TWO.

To carry us over the time which must elapse before the Barker batch bodies can be available, Park Wards may have to put in hand a small quantity of (say) 5 or 10 Coupes, and Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} is to discuss with them the question of the price they would charge for the bodies in such small batches.

5. COLOUR SCHEMES.

HN{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}

It was mentioned that a Bentley chassis is about to be sent to Vanden Plas to be mounted with an Open body for exhibition in the Showroom in replacement of the car which is at present there. It was considered that this replacement car should be finished in Red with Red leather, and Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} is to obtain patterns.

6. STEP IRONS.

The Sub-committee was advised it has been decided to arrange for the step irons to be lowered 2 inches on both the 20/25 and 40/50 R-R chassis. This will, of course, enable the running boards to be lower and will have the effect of giving the complete cars a lower appearance.

It was explained that the Coachbuilder need not necessarily drop his running boards the whole 2 inches the step irons are lowered. If necessary he can put packing between the steps and the running boards. It is expected, however, that whilst when the lower step irons first come through there may be some cars completed where full advantage is not taken to drop the steps the full 2 inches, it will rapidly be adopted.

AN

It was also explained that, even if the running boards be the full 2 inches lower, the sides of the body need not of necessity be carried down 2 inches lower. They can stay where they are or be carried down one inch lower. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} will get drawings from one or two of the Coachbuilders showing the effect of lowering the steps 2 inches and the sides of the body one inch and 2 inches.

7. MR. JOYCE'S TALBOT.

Mr. Joyce will be asked whether he can arrange for this car to be available for the inspection of those Officials who have not yet seen it.
