2. W.A. Robotham Esq. 23.11.33. of the tyres which were removed from the demonstration Bentley in Glasgow. One tyre is taken from the front wheel and the other from the back wheel. On the other two tyres which we are holding here at the factory for your disposition, the wear is almost identical with the two which we have sent you. We should like you to note the wear on the tyre which was mounted on the front wheel. A peculiar thing is that the greatest wear has taken place on the inside of the tyre, not on the outside as is usual on tyres fitted on the front wheels. The tyres have been marked so that you can identify them. The tyre which was fitted on the rear wheel seems to call for no comments as the wear is very even with no 'cupping' or no troubles such as is sometimes experienced. It is our opinion that we can, by slightly modifying the tread design, overcome the tendency for the centre buttons to wear 'proud' when the tyre is fitted on the front wheel, however, we feel that the excessive wear on the inner ridge of the tyre might be due to some peculiar condition in the front wheel assembly, such as 'whip' in the front axle. Yours faithfully, INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED. Paul Worth. Works Manager. | ||
