Our two worries with the B.50 box have been the noisy spur first speed and also an insufficiently silent overdrive. We have now tried a Wraith overdrive box in 7.B.V. First speed is, of course, very quiet. Overdrive and 2nd. are little if any better than the best B.50 box. It appears that a B.V. car is worse for gear noise than a Wraith. We have already instructed a helical first speed for the B.50 box. In view of the results on 7.B.V. we think there is very little chance now of not using the new box for B.V. production.
