We note that in your report of 30/31.1.38 you state that moving the thermometer bulb to its standard position at the rear of the cylinder head decreases temperature fluctuation. Since the thermometer has been moved we would like to receive some figures showing actual variation in fore and aft positions. We would point out, however, that we wish the thermometer bulb to be run in the front position throughout the mileage, as in our opinion this is the correct position for it. We are in touch with the thermometer makers about the question of making their instrument dead-bent. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. | ||
