Messrs S. Smith & Sons,
Cricklewood Works,
London. N.W.2.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 13th. inst. ref. D.4. regarding the Automatic Jet Control for the S.U. Carburetters. We undertook to test out this fitting to assist Mr.Skinner of the S.U. Company who is interested in it. As this item is essentially an accessory to the S.U. Carburetter, we are somewhat surprised that you should wish to charge us for carrying out experimental work, the results of which will be almost entirely to your own advantage. Generally speaking when we undertake development work of this nature it is customary for the parts to be supplied free of charge.

With regard to the particular automatic jet control to which you refer. We are endeavouring to trace this.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED.
