500a HOTEL DE FRANCE, CHATEAUROUX. Indre, France. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/HFH{Hoppy F. Hamilton}/JAB.2. 11th December 1936 To. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. G.W.H. 22. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} V.{VIENNA} We have again been held up to-day due to a further breakage in the exhaust system. This has no connection with the breakage reported, which occurred two days ago. The supporting lug on the side of the first expansion chamber cracked and has become loose, and one of the rivets has broken in two exposing a hole, through which the exhaust was escaping. It seems probable that weak riveting and general vibration has caused this fracture. -------- GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/HFH.{Hoppy F. Hamilton} | ||
