SECRET. Vo. from Ha. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Ve/MP. Ag file 1212 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/Alb.20.1.41. POWER MOUNTING FOR THE 40 mm. GUN. We called in at Nash & Thompson's on Friday last, January 17th., to see whether they were likely to keep their delivery date for this power driven mounting, which was promised for January 21st. We found that it was almost completed. Unfortunately, they had omitted the loader's seat, which was shown on our drawings QF.147 and QF.156. They agreed that they would get this seat made with the greatest possible expedition, and should it not actually be fitted to the mounting when it left their works, on the 21st., they would despatch what they had completed, so that we could fit it at Derby.
