On trying to make use of the Skid Pan yesterday we naturally found it locked, and the only key somewhere in possession of the Aero Dept. This caused considerable inconvenience because we had some apparatus from the Cambridge Instrument Co. which we wanted to test. It is possible to get through the first gate by going through the Welfare another route, but we should be glad if you would let us have a key to the Skid Pan itself which could be kept in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s office for those occasions when we wish to use the Skid Pan on overtime.
