(D 11) A.M. 798. 50-12-20. O 2947 To EFC. X.4384. EXPERIMENTAL BY/WER5/EF18. 8. 21. "GOSHAWK" 11. R.R. DESIGN OF STARTER MOTOR. We have made up a Winding Diagram for the above motor D.50219 of which please receive herewith one blue print. It will be noted that the pitch of the Armature Coils is 1-8 and that the winding is connected to the Commutator retrogressively 1-15-29.(Comm lugs) The End Connections are equally spaced resulting in a symmetrical Armature, although it may be found desirable when winding the Dummies which we have instructed to stagger the End Winding in order to lessen the length of the overhang. We have shown the polarity of the Field Poles and also the desired direction of rotation when looking on the Commutator End. The Brushes are set on the 45º lines about which lines the Field Poles are also set. We have not as yet made any provision for any range of movement of the Brushes when testing the motor. Perhaps you will let us know what movement you consider necessary, and also make any comments on the various points mentioned above. BY/WER. W.R. | ||
