1033 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}5/JH. 31st. October, 1939. The Zenith Carburetter Co.Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex. For the attention of Mr. Turner. c. to Mr. Fisher. Dear Sirs, We are anxious to complete a final specification for the A.A. 25 type Stromberg carburetter, and features which we consider to be desireable are as follows - (1) Built in "kick" piston connected to starting choke. (2) starting choke and bearings for same should be modified to confirm to latest "Wraith" type Stromberg to safeguard against backfires and distortion. (3) Electrical starting device should be wired to suit our 12 volt system. (4) We would like this device to work from the position of our water hot spot at the throttle end of the carburetter. This we consider is not as serious as it sounds at first, and considerations should be given if necessary to make the device a little more powerful. Such things as improved ball end joints may help to get over the friction problem. As we are not very satisfied with the present electrical starting device we would like to get something built up on the above lines as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
