With reference to your memo and K's report (K.138), we feel that the trouble on this car is possibly due to the transfer holes in the selector rod housing not being drilled, or possibly they have been stopped up by solder when the end plates were fitted. We had a similar case at W. some time ago. If you are not in a position to say definitely that these transfer holes were clear on this particular car, we should be glad if you would make arrangements to get hold of it, and check this point, if this is possible without upsetting the customer. Until we have this information definitely, we cannot take any action with regard to overcoming this feature being a possible source of complaint on other cars.
