To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. BJ1/H18.12.22 (Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}) -2- reputation from the first, and is noted above all things, for its extreme silence. If we once drop that standard of perfection, we shall immediately find ourselves amongst the ruck of dozens of other cars of the same horse-power - and we are endeavouring to sell our cars at about twice the price. I am sending a copy of this to R.{Sir Henry Royce}, as you will doubtless wish to take up with him immediately what action should be taken to enable us to produce more silent axles. For the present we have stopped all orders for limousine bodies, as until we have a standard chassis on which they can be tested for noise, it is no use our building them. B.J. | ||
