Experimental Department 17th December 1936. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}19/AP. Messrs Wilmot Breedon Ltd., Eastern Works, Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM 1. For the attention of R.P.Turner Esq. Dear Sirs, We are writing to confirm that, during the writer's visit to you yesterday, he asked you to supply us with 5 sets of Bentley Stabiliser weights, containing 8% antimony, but cast in the existing dies. We should be very glad if you could let us have these as soon as possible, as this matter is now urgent. In connection with the Bumper Bar containing a rubber washer between the weights, which you sent to our Mr. Harvey Bailey, we have unfortunately scrapped some of the parts of this and we would be glad if you could send us replacements as follows:- 1 Chromium plated upper cap with stud. 1 Set of lead weights. 2 Rubber washers. 6 Packing washers for adjusting compression of rubber. We should be glad if you would let us know just how much compression you would like on the rubber washers, as we presume that this is important. We believe that you told our Mr.Bailey that the compression should be 0.125, while your drawing of our stabiliser specifies 0.062 and the stabiliser received had 0.040. continued | ||
