- 14 - The bottom corners of the matrix are stopped off dead, by means of a thin flat strip inserted in the matrix during construction. This has the effect of removing the most prevalent source of leaks in the matrix. The bottom tank was recently changed as the new part shows - this is cast almost entirely in the green sand with a much reduced wastage of castings and considerable saving in cost. For Arrgt. of Radiator suspension see A-14046 under Sec. 2. The base of the mascot is machined at an angle to tilt it forward a little so as to clear the bonnet, owing to receiving numerous complaints of having to turn the mascot everytime the bonnet is lifted.
