(2) We have therefore prepared an alternative design - Lec 1539 - shewing a form of oil flinger which might be bet- ter than the existing one for not driving out the oil centri- fugally through the horizontal joint. This however in- volves an alteration to the crankshaft and we can only sug- gest that if a trial is thought desirable of this alterna- tive scheme, a scrapped crankshaft should be machined up to the shape shewn.
