Instructions for radiator mounting adjustments and part replacements to ensure correct clearance and movement.

have no clearance, as this causes a load on the bottom rubber when the cup is on.

(4) If the radiator movement is not sufficient the radiator should be raised by a packing in the centre mounting.

Care must be taken to see that there is enough clearance for the :-

(a) Starting handle shaft in all positions of the radiator
(b) Bottom radiator water connections against the underneath of the radiator cross-member in the extreme positions of the radiator.
(c) Bonnet to the radiator. Shortening the radiator stay tube slightly and refitting the bonnet may be necessary.
(d) Front undershields.

In cases when the test of the complete car shows excessive radiator movement the following work may be necessary.

(1) In-crease the radiator movement. If all possible movement has been obtained by raising the radiator it will be necessary to chip the radiator cross-member at the points of contact.

Care must be taken to :-

(a) Maintain an even contour on the cross-member.
(b) Prevent chipping from getting to the water pump via the bottom water connection.

In the centre radiator mounting the following parts are likely to be wrong to the drawing and should be replaced whenever there is need to dismantle the centre mounting.

(1) The short distance piece F.64088 replaces F.62205.
(2) The soft rubber F.64086 replaces the hard rubber E.60612.
(3) The spherical seating F.63000 all owing more movement for the centre mounting replaces F.62202.
