RR 238 (150 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 481-8-12 24) MP 306975 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: E.T.C. Order No. WC64 Customer's No. X 7791 X7791 19 - 1 - 1928 Watford EW6 magneto No 100081. We have now tested this magneto, since its return from the test dept, to our general schedule of performance. The magneto passed our specification on every point except the leaky gap performance which is bad in the advanced position. The internal timing of the armature reveals that the period of make is too long compared with what we consider to be correct ie. 100°, and we suggest that if the break was kept the same but the make retarded say about 5° ie lengthening the cams on the make side, the advanced Signed: coutd.
