Car for the Tourist Trophy Race 1936. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/D.21.7.36. We are glad Mr. Hall has impressed Dr. Young with the severity of the conditions under which the tyres will have to operate in this year's T.T. race, and that he is now contemplating using the 700 tyre, which should stand a better chance. Referring to the petrol tank, we should like to do all we can to help Mr. Ridlington, but there is not the least possibility of getting the petrol tank completed this month; in fact it is going to be a struggle to get it by the end of the second week in August, as the drawings were only available immediately before the Works went on holiday. I think the only possible way of dealing with the job is for the tank to be fitted when the cylinder head is finally changed before the car goes to Ireland. We have to change the cylinder head as the R.A.C. will not let us run with the same valves as we fitted for the Le Mans. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
