SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE.

2nd June 1939.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Attention of Mr. I.A. Leslie.

Dear Sirs,

Further to your letter of the 26th May, Ref: Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.3/B, the matter of quantities has certainly influenced the A.T.Speedometer Company in rendering their quotation.

May we explain that when the undersigned quoted considerably lower prices it was on the understanding we should be getting a bigger volume of business. We appreciate, however, that because of the special circumstances obtaining and the fact that your main activities are devoted towards aero production, you have been prevented from going ahead with greater chassis production.

The writer had the pleasure of a conversation with Mr. Robotham this morning and confirms that he hopes to visit you on Thursday next about mid-day when he is sure that an amicable understanding can be arranged.

Cont'd..
