DIAGRAM Nº 35

NOTE: WITHIN THE LIMITS OF NORMAL BRAKE PRESSURE µ IS NOT AFFECTED BY DIFFERENCES IN PRESSURES.

µ
COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION

SLIPPING SPEED - FEET PER MIN.

FERODO FIBRE
FERODO BONDED ASBESTOS

STATIC FRICTION LINE

THE VALUE OF µ OBTAINED AT TEMPERATURES BETWEEN:
{ 70° & 260°F FOR FERODO FIBRE
{ 70° & 550°F FOR FERODO BONDED ASBESTOS
WITHIN ± 5% AT THE HIGHER TEMPERATURE.

THE GENERAL EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE IS TO INCREASE THE VALUE OF µ.
