B.80 NO. 1 UNIT.

Will you please assemble the above engine as follows, which after short run on the bed it is proposed to allott for a chassis.

(1) Crankshaft damper brought up to date similar to No.2 unit, setting to be ft. lbs/degree.

(2) Ignition distributor to DCD.1154 with governor characteristic as per our memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1J/MR.22.2.39.

(3) New high tension wires required.

(4) Regarding the fouling of the tappets on the cam faces, it has been decided to reduce the width of the journals by .075 i.e. .037 each side. This should apply to all the cam journal faces. As yet no drawing is available but a drawing will be prepared for the job.

The radius in the cam journals to be .050 in accordance with the alteration 20259.

(5) New bottom tappet required for No.3 exhaust which was chipped on the base due to fouling.

(6) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} to specify which induction system and carburetter to be fitted.

(7) Steel push rods required EB.4516 top cup with length as EB.4199, in accordance with our memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/MR.2.3.39.

(8) Lap in inlet and exhaust valves on seats.

(9) Flywheel and clutch as specified by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HRC. with 11" long B & B clutch.
