Rml/R.21.2.39.

We shall be glad if you will now instruct the B.80 Conventional engine patterns.

With regard to the alternative high power engine top to be available for this crankcase, we shall be glad if you will not instruct this for the time being, as we are making some modifications which we wish to be incorporated in the final pattern.

crankcase X

We should like the/patterns to be made with an expansion allowance intermediate between cast iron and aluminium so that we can get a cast off in either material. We understand that this is possible as Leylands have just done this with their new experimental 'Cub' engine.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

x The conventional head will always be cast iron.
