Re. Radio Set on GUB.5.

I am sorry we have not been able to get such good results as the Cadillac with GUB.5 but we have had to place the aerial under the running boards which unfortunately are metal. It was not possible to install the aerial in the roof and the screening effect of the metal running boards will produce more "background" and make the set less sensitive.

This is the first installation we have attempted ourselves on a completed car at the Works, and from comparisons we have made with other cars similarly equipped, the reception is good.

On the Cadillac, the set has obviously been designed in with the car and if we are to achieve any similar measure of success the installation of sets on our cars will have to be considered in very close co-operation with our coachbuilders.

Owing to the extra discharge on the battery it would be advisable to have the battery given an occasional charge in the Shop.

We are working on a new dynamo regulator which will take charge of the extra load imposed on our batteries by the fitting of wireless sets.
