H.R. 199 (250 T) (SD676 19-7-17) MP180865 X.30146 BY9/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 3. 8. 20. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} C. EFC. Xe. C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ------- X.30146 CHASSIS DYNAMO. ------------- Referring to EFC's memo EFC4/T. 30. 7. 20. would you kindly arrange to write to Messrs Lucas and point out to them that the maximum allowance which we can agree to by which the position of the Control Brush is modified from its normal position, is One Commutator Segment. The actual measurement by which the position of the brush can be definitely checked is on current out-put, our ruling being that Messrs Lucas must not drop below Ten Amperes maximum out-put when the dynamo is. "Normally Hot". With regard to the further points raised by EFC, as to whether we actually check the speeds after moving the brush, the reply to this is "yes", and that both in Mr.Brock's Dept. and actually on cars, as tested by EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, the noise practically disappears when the Control Brush is moved as specified. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
