Dear Sirs,
Further to our letter of the 27th ult., we have now had time to carefully examine the faulty gauge returned to us from the French car. Our conclusion is that the glass tube of this gauge broke off short just underneath the top glass tube holder, and that the cause was faulty manufacture, owing to the top or bottom glass tube holder fouling the casting at some point or the top capillary tube not being clear during the whole of its run, thus causing undue strain on the glass tube itself.
We have been carefully into this question, and
MAJOR SEGRAVE'S "GOLDEN ARROW"
was fitted with a NAPIER-LION ENGINE and
CLAUDEL-HOBSON CARBURETTERS.
